Arguing the case of Run-D.M.C.'s classic self-titled 1984 debut against that of this singles collection is ultimately a sucker (M.C.)'s game; each is unstoppable. Together Forever stands as a testament to both the duo-plus DJ's vision and their consistency in producing monster 12-inches that kept your body twitching and your mind working overtime long after the music had stopped. Choosing highlights from such a rich tune stack is really the listener's job, but we're partial to hyperactive jams like the Steven Tyler/Joe Perry collaboration of "Walk This Way," the warning shot of "Sucker M.C.s," the bell-ringing B-side "Beats to the Rhyme," and one of the most goodhearted of Yuletide tunes, "Christmas in Hollis." --Rickey Wright
